"From all the links that I saw in your website, the one that call my attention the most was the link that said “World Music". I couldn't relate music with tourism before even checking it out. So it gave me even more curiosity to see what it was all about. I clicked on "All Songs are considered". And I was amazed, astounded, of the music they had there. I'm so passionate about discovering new singers and I respect and admire different kinds of music. While I was hearing every single song they had I still didn't understand what music had to do with geography of tourism. And then it clicked to me.... Music is the universal language. Music can be expressed in so many languages in so many cultures. That's the geographical view of music... and then I started thinking harder... I started to search through the website and was looking at the list of concerts they had and I realize that a person so passionate about different music like me would travel to see someone play live in a concert. And that's the touristic perspective of music. People tend to travel and commute to see people play live, which involves sometimes planning a trip, maybe getting an airplane, arraigning reservations on a hotel for the night, getting food on the restaurants around and maybe buying a souvenir in a near store. Music is a movement by itself and people will follow its flow what I should call "musical tourism". " - SP '08
"...After that, I can affirm that, this kind of work, these videos are so helpful and useful if you are planning to travel. The best way to know a place is to understand the people. The best way to know the people is to understand the place. And geography of tourism, as a science, is able to explain clear this contrasts for us." - SP '08
"...When I was writing my reflection paper, it really hit me how traveling around the world can really enhance your life..."
"...It is important to respect other cultures, as you would want a tourist to do the same for your culture as well. Accepting other peoples culture is an essential part of being able to have a positive experience from traveling. I think the basic message this video sends is that people around the world have different customs, so it is important to travel with an open mind...".
