Migration refers to movement of an
individual from his/her home country (source) to another country (destination).
Two main movements are involved. These are:
1. Immigration - the movement of individuals
into a country (destination).
2. Emigration - the movement of individuals
from their home country (source).
Net
migration
refers to the balance between emigration and immigration. The net
migration for a country can be positive when immigration exceeds
emigration. It can also be negative when emigration exceeds immigration.
Causes
of Migration.
1. Pull Factors: These factors attract
people to new destinations. They include, job opportunities, educational
facilities, warm weather, peaceful existence, etc
2. Push Factors: These factors force individuals
to flee or leave their countries. They include political persecutions, lack of
jobs and educational facilities, cold weather, high income taxes, war, etc.

and other social services

migrants in skills for jobs
