UNDERGRADUATES

Each student is expected to belong to one of four research groups listed below. The groups are expected to conduct a thorough research on the selected topics. Sources of information could be interviewing of specialists in the field. Each group would meet, prepare and present a report on their research to the class.

GROUP 1.  FEEDING THE POOR THROUGH FOOD AID: THE BENEFITS & DRAWBACKS.

Trace the sources and recipients of food aid in the world. Explain why some people depend on food aid. Search for reasons why some countries give food aid to others. Show statistics if possible then examine the impact, merits and demerits of using food aid as a tool for alleviating hunger in poor developing countries. What impact does food aid have on the giving and recipient countries? Tell us what you think about this practice.
